Best Days to Sit for the CPA Exam

Posted by Guest Blogger on Jan 5, 2019 3:29:00 PM

You've spent hundreds of hours studying for the CPA exam after researching and choosing the review course that best fits your study style. You've looked at the AICPA Blueprints so many times that you dream about confusing application and analysis questions. You have that NTS burning a digital hole in your email. But are you in that "sweet spot" for testing? Did you even know that there was one?

Since NASBA has decreed that Rolling Score Release would return in 2019, there are a few days in each testing period that we at Yaeger call the "sweet spot" - that is, when you have 10 days or less from the day you test to the day that NASBA releases your score.* The sweet spots for 2019 are:

Q1 Test Period (January 01 - March 10)

Date(s) to Test Score Release Date Days Between Test and Score
February 14 February 22 12
February 26 - 28 March 08 8-10
March 09 - 10 March 19 9-10

Q2 Test Period (April 01 - June 10)

Date(s) to Test Score Release Date Days Between Test and Score
May 13-15 May 23 8-10
May 31 June 11 11
June 09 - 10 June 19 9-10

Q3 Test Period (July 01 - September 10

Date(s) to Test Score Release Date Days Between Test and Score
August 12-14 August 22 8-10
August 31 September 10 10
September 09 - 10 September 19 9-10

Q4 Test Period (October 01 - December 10)

Date(s) to Test Score Release Date Days Between Test and Score
November 14 November 22 8-10
November 30 December 10 10
December 09 - 10 December 19 9-10

There are two to three sweet spots in each testing period - and one day per testing period that results in as little as an eight day wait between test and score! So when you get ready to plan your next test date, don't forget to refer back to this post to help you cut down that wait time.

Good luck!

Coming up on your test date and feeling as though you just can't get to 75? Use the Yaeger CRAM course and add an average of 5-10 points to your score.

*if you are a candidate from CA, IL, KY, MD, or ND you are required to obtain your scores from their BOA website. Add two to three days to your wait time if you are a candidate from one of these states.
