Change is nothing new for the CPA exam. The 2017 exam heralded sweeping structure and content changes.

Next year, we can look forward to a more user-friendly exam. According to the AICPA VP of Examinations Michael Decker, the upgrades are projected to go live on April 1, 2018.

Here's what to expect:

  • Full use of the 23" screen
  • A cleaner interface design
  • Split-screen capability (which will come in handy and save time on task-based simulations)
  • Microsoft Excel integration

While a cleaner user interface and more versatile screen options are nice, the most anticipated new feature is the integration of Microsoft Excel. Functionality built into the simulations will be greatly improved and the copy/paste tool will be much more versatile, saving you valuable testing time. For example, copy entire tables or answer prompts to and from Excel.

We're excited! Finally an exam change to look forward to for once.

Beta testing begins Fall 2017.
